Sustainable
Core Materials
Gurit’s structural core materials are trusted by leading wind turbine manufacturers to deliver strength, consistency, and cost efficiency at scale and in both onshore and offshore conditions. Designed to minimize resin uptake, reduce blade weight, and optimize production processes, our PET and balsa cores are available as standard kits or optimized using Gurit’s proprietary OptiCore design platform.
With decades of experience and a commitment to sustainable manufacturing, Gurit enables lighter, longer, and more efficient blades for the next generation of wind energy.
Lightweight Strength. Proven Performance.
Kerdyn PET
Gurit Kerdyn PET delivers the perfect balance of strength, stiffness, and sustainability. Manufactured from up to 100% recycled PET, this thermoplastic core offers excellent mechanical properties, high temperature resistance, and low resin uptake – reducing blade weight and overall production cost.
Consistent, durable, and compatible with multiple resin systems, Kerdyn PET helps wind turbine OEMs meet ambitious sustainability goals without compromising performance or reliability.
Balsaflex
Naturally strong and responsibly sourced, Gurit Balsaflex is trusted for its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio and superior compressive and shear properties. DNV- and Lloyds-approved, it delivers proven performance in demanding wind blade and nacelle structures.
Available in various densities and formats, including lightweight and cost-optimized options, Balsaflex combines structural integrity with environmental responsibility – supporting sustainable, high-performance composite solutions for the wind industry.
Kerdyn PET and Balsaflex cores are available as optimized kits using Gurit’s proprietary OptiCore design platform.
