Prepregs

High Performance Solutions
For Advanced Composite Manufacturing

Gurit prepregs set the benchmark for precision, performance, and versatility in composite materials. With over 30 years of expertise in prepreg technology and production, we empower manufacturers across the globe to produce lighter, stronger, and more efficient composite structures.

As part of our new multi-market approach, Gurit prepregs are now not only shaping the marine and wind energy sectors — but are also driving innovation in the medical, defense, and many other industries.

What are Prepregs?

Pre-impregnated materials, or prepregs, are reinforcement fibers or fabrics pre-impregnated with a carefully formulated, pre-catalysed resin system.
Produced with hot-melt technology and stringent quality control, Gurit prepregs ensure:

Consistent and higher fiber content

Outstanding laminate quality and mechanical performance

Minimal void content and excellent surface finish

Our resin systems are designed for processing flexibility — offering long out-lives for large builds and rapid curing for high-volume manufacturing.

SPRINT Technology

SPRINT materials represent a step-change in processing efficiency and laminate quality. By combining one or two layers of dry fibre reinforcement with a pre-cast, pre-catalysed resin film, SPRINT technology enables easy handling and lay-up in the mould. The unique construction ensures that fibres remain dry and un-impregnated until the curing stage.

When vacuum is applied, air is efficiently removed from fibre bundles and between layers, thanks to the open structure of the dry reinforcement. Upon heating, the resin film softens and infuses the laminate, resulting in exceptionally low void content (typically 0–0.5%) and a superior surface finish.

Gurit’s SPRINT systems are designed to minimise debulking between layers, drastically reducing build times while maintaining outstanding mechanical properties and consistency.
