Gurit PET

Recycled Structural Foam Core

Build a Stronger, Lighter, and Greener Future with Gurit PET

Gurit PET was developed in response to the growing need for a lightweight structural cost-effective core material with excellent properties, lower resin uptake and with the goals of reducing a product’s carbon footprint and reducing waste.

It is a versatile thermoplastic core material with good balance of mechanical properties, temperature resistance, density options and cost for a wide range of marine, transportation and other industrial applications.

Made from up to 100% recycled post-consumer content and a highly consistent extruded foam, Gurit PET helps customers reduce weight, improve efficiency, and meet sustainability goals without compromising durability or quality.

Sustainability at Scale

Gurit’s PET core supports the industry’s transition to carbon-neutral production. Made from up to 100% recycled post-consumer PET bottles (guaranteed minimum 50%), PET offers up to 65% lower CO₂ emissions compared to conventional foam cores. Through a closed-loop recycling system that reuses PET waste from our own operations, Gurit gives new life to everyday plastic waste – recycling nearly 1 billion bottles annually – transforming it into structural materials that power renewable energy.

In 2024, Gurit recycled 891 million post-consumer PET drinking bottles and recycled 10,890 tons of PET waste generated through our own operations.
